Questions and Answers

How much do you charge?

I charge $120.00 per hour. However, the last 10 minutes is left for administrative tasks such as scheduling and payment. Also, the fee is subject to increase, but I will keep you informed if and when that occurs.

Do you directly bill insurance providers?

I do not bill directly. However, many insurance plans do cover my services. Check with your insurance provider about therapy/psychological coverage from a Registered Social Worker. After our session, I’ll provide you with a receipt that you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.

What does a typical first session look like?

In our first session we’ll get to know one another and determine if we’re a good fit. I will ask you questions such as, “What brings you to therapy?” and “What are your goals for therapy?” For further information about my approach to therapy, check out my services page.

How many sessions will I require?

It varies. Some people only require a few sessions while others may require more depending on the complexity of their struggles and circumstances.

Is my personal information kept confidential?

I uphold strict standards regarding the confidentiality of your personal information. As a regulated professional practicing in the province of Manitoba, I adhere to the Personal Health Information Act and the Manitoba College of Registered Social Workers Code of Ethics. However, there are limitations to privacy: If you or others are at immediate risk of danger, if children are threatened or have been harmed, and if the court subpoenas your records, I will break confidentiality. Also, note that I prefer to use email mainly for scheduling purposes and general information. Please refrain from including highly personal information via email.

Do you have a waitlist?

Yes, I often have a waitlist.

How long is your waitlist?

It varies anywhere from a few weeks to a few months. If you have flexibility for daytime appointments from Monday to Friday, the wait will be less. If you require evening or weekend appointments, the wait can be more than 6 months.

Where do I park?

There is metered parking on Arthur St. or surrounding streets. There is usually plenty of parking spots unless a film is being shot in the area, and if you’re lucky, you may get a glimpse of a celebrity.
